Take me out to the Ball Game

Devin's office won a sales incentive to go to a Washington Nationals baseball game. The Nats were playing the Red Sox making it an exciting game to attend. I was just happy to hang out with Devin in the daylight hours. Devin had this tradition where he buys a Jersey from and professional ball game he attends. Thanks to Pinnacle he is getting quite the collection.

As always the wonderful night ended all too soon

Cake

The Reception

Who would have guessed that Pink & Gold could look so classy together? The reception was gorgeous. From the flowers to the cake everything was pretentious. We munched on delicious cupcakes and ice cream all night. The personal favorites? Strawberries and Cream and of course Chocolate Peanut butter.

Little sis married off

Erika had a wedding to remember. Everything fell into place perfectly. Even the rain stopped, and the sun came out for the grand temple scene. Erika was glowing as she exited the temple as the newest Mrs. Barney. Zach was grinning ear to ear while gripping his newest possession. The handsome couple seemed to be in their own little perfect world.

Happy Anniversary in NYC

Empire State Building, New York Stock Exchange, World Trade Center Memorial, Manhattan Temple, & Pink Berry. The Manhattan Temple is totally crazy. Right there in the middle of everything. Connected on all sides to other buildings like everything else in New York.
A word about Pink Berry. I have been hearing about Pink Berry from numerous sources for quite some time now. So when I realized we were in New York one of the two states that has a Pink Berry I knew we had to go. Let me tell you, it absolutely was all that it was cracked up to be. Devin must have loved it too because he inhaled his smoothing then downed half of my yogurt. I was trying to savor mine but once Devin started on it I had to eat fast before he took it all. :)

New York City

After our show we walked around Time Square. Once we were tired we headed to Mama Mexico. A Mexican Restaurant Dave & Cicily rave about. They said they have the Best Guacamole they have ever tasted. Devin I have to agree. At the restaurant the server brings all the ingredients to the guac out to your table and makes if fresh in from of you. So Delicious!

New York City

June 2nd 2009 marks four years of marriage! Saturday night at about 8:30 Devin calls me up, "Hey babe what do you think about going to New York in the morning to celebrate our anniversary?" Well, I am no dummy i jumped on that opportunity. Within minuets I had jumped online to find us a place to stay and check out tickets for the Broadway "Wicked" So Sunday morning we were off. It only took us four hours to get up to New York. Once inside the city however, it was a little more crazy. I don't think Devin really trusted me when I told him that driving in New York is nuts. Once we parked at our hotel we were able to relax. Devin of course surprised me and got us an upgraded room. We had a beautiful view. Then off to our Show. Wicked is definitely the favorite of all the Broadways I have seen. Devin loved it too, he couldn't believe that there was more to the show at the intermission he said he could have gone home happy just seeing the first half. We had smiles on our faces for hours after the show. We walked the streets of New York singing "Popular" Although we did not sound quite as good as the real thing.

Cupcake Exchange

So I know this is totally girlie but while the boys are out that's all we are left with, Girlie-ness. So We had a cupcake exchange. We made, Death by chocolate cupcakes, Chocolate Cinnamon Cupcakes, Key Lime Pie Cupcakes, Coconut Cupcakes, Strawberry Banana Smoothie Cupcakes, & Chunky Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes! Wow! Every single one was delicious. Off course I cannot take credit for the decorated ones. The cupcakes I decorated myself were, well, not picture worthy. I think I have about 20 cupcakes in my freezer still!

Here are just a few of the cupcakes we made:

Arlington Cemetery

Luckily for us this summer we have some family living close by (well sort of) So on Sunday Devin and I met up with Brian and Sarah at Arlington Cemetery. After our picnic we walked around the 624 Acres of property with over 300,000 people buried in the ground. We had a great time hanging out family & hope to see more of Brian and Sarah while we are out here this summer.

Picking Strawberries

One of our favorite Summer traditions is picking strawberries. They are sweet, juicy, and delicious! Every year after picking our strawberries we spend the day making strawberry jam, once the boys get home we have strawberry shortcake.

Who do you think is farther along Ashley or Elias?

Summer Parties

We will use any excuse we can come up with to have a party out here in Virginia. This is our friend Pichu's Birthday party. Red bean Ice Cream, & Red Bean paste to make Red bean bread. Pichu grew up in Taiwan and Red Bean products around here are hard to come by. So she couldn't have been happier about her gifts. I don't know if I could would have felt the same...

Kyle is off!

Who ever thought this day would come? Our scrawny little brother Kyle grew up into a big man and is now leaving on a mission! Atlanta, Georgia; We all feel that this is the perfect place for him to be. Double the missionaries, double the letter writing, double the fun!
