Hiking in November

On a clear Saturday morning in November Jess and I conquered Mount Mahogany! 5 hours round trip, 3,600 ft up.
I had made the same trip once before when I was 14 with my scout troop and have been excited to make it back ever since. Mt. Mahogany lies at the base of Mt. Timpanogas and in front of Lone Peak High School. The trick with this mountain is that there are no trails to follow or safety warnings to guild. It's more like a choose your own adventure book:) We struggled make it up to the top where we could see from SLC to Payson and miles of mountains to the east. Beautiful view. The way down turned into a headache when I tried to take a short cut and we ended up swimming though thick brush and trees for what seemed like hours and barely maneuvering past a few cliff areas. I was really impressed with Jessica's mountain climbing skill and her patience with me. A healthy challenge well worth it.

Halloween Parties

The weekend was full of PARTIES!!! So we got plenty of use out of our costumes. The night before Halloween we hosted a big Party in our basement with allot of our friends from work. We dressed up the basement to look like our own dungeon and enjoyed some great tortilla soup and desserts. The Morgan's sponsored most of the games and we all ended up with toilet paper or carmel apples all over us! So much fun. The Pool Table tournament was epic as well. wish you were there. The day of Halloween we made the usual round to Diane's in Alpine and then to my house in Highland. Cameron and Kyle were throwing a huge Bash with all his friends and the garage was turned into a dance floor. Way too cool for the Petersons. Last stop was over to Jamie and Mike Taylors for the Annual Party. Alway and 10 out of 10. We love all our friend from highschool. This year we cashed out big with a WIN in the Best Costume Contest!!! Until next year suckers!!!!

Halloween Costumes (Before and After)

Halloween seems to get more and more interesting every year. This year Jess and I started looking for our costumes in the end of September and only finished days before. Jessica had had it with wearing a goofy costume and wanted to look cute so we compromised, she got to wear the cute NYC firefighter costume and I was the fire. My costume required a little bit of creativity and time. I bought the suit from China and Jess helped me design and cut our each flame using three different colors of fabric and five different types of glue. All in all it was a worth while project and made the holiday warmer then usual :)))

Cougar Football

Sure glad that we bought season tickets this year and only made it to three home games:( But it was worth it in the end. The family got to fill in and use our tickets when we couldn't make it and we really enjoyed the crisp football weather when we could make it. Congrats on a great season!!! Go Cougars!!!

Last Stop!!!! Phoenix, Arizona

After a long list of cities and crazy adventures that we have had this summer it was nice to settle into a city closer to home and a little bit more familiar. I had recruited and sold here in Phoenix on and off for the last few year so I knew my way around the city. As usual we were setup in a very nice apartment complex across the street from a city golf course ( we went a few times while we were here). Phoenix was a big change from little old Beaumont TX. There were plenty of activities, restaurants and shopping around but as usual the best part was the great company. In these pics we are enjoying a fun sunday BBQ at the pool. We finished out the summer here in AZ and headed back to Utah for the long winter around October 15th. Another summer accomplished :)

Monday Night Football

The one good thing that came from our evacuations to Dallas was the epic football game at Texas Stadium! Andrew and Ashley Brown, Chris, Mike, and Jess and I were the only die hards that got tickets and dove into the crazy and intense texas culture of football pride. I got Jessica a official jersey of Marion Barber and I got a Terrel Owens Jersey and we were set for a crazy night. I have never meet so many crazy, yelling, drinking, high fiving, jersey wearing, cursing, LOUD fans in my life. The game was one for the history books. We never were Cowboys fans before but I think we are now. It was amazing.

Hurricane Gustav and Ike

When we thought the summer couldnt get any more exciting...... it did.
On August 22nd we were all watching every news channel in anticipation to see where hurricane Gustav would hit between Texas and Lousiana. We had never been close enough to a hurricane so naturally didnt really know what to think, but on Saturday on our way out to work it seemed like half of the city was packing up everything they owned and heading out. Even the 2 state prisons evacuated their inmates. At that point i thought it pertainant to throw in the towel and attempt to evacuate as well. Within hours we had everyone packed up and heading to Dallas where we booked hotels for everyone for a week. The storm hit New Orleans and comically enough it did not even rain one drop in Beaumont. Ha Ha Mother nature.... we packed up shop and moved back by thursday.
But she definatly had the last laugh because not more then one week later along came hurricane Ike. The timing for another hurricane was impecable with Jessica's mom, Diane, visiting from Utah. I thought we would be tough and ride this one out so the day before it hit was spent filling up our cars with gas and waiting in long lines at the store for food, candles, ice, water, batteries, and anything else that would keep us entertained for days without power. Once we were all ready for Mother Nature to bring on the wrath we all chickened out and left the morning of the storm for Dallas again. Everyone was crying doomsday and "Curtain death" if anyone stayed. And sure enough it tore up Beaumont pretty bad and flooded more surrounding cities. While in Dallas assesing the damage and our options for ongoing employment in Beaumont we had a tough decision to make.... Ok. Where to now??? Concensous was to go back into the war zone of Beaumont pack up our stuff and move the whole office to Phoenix, Az. The problem was though that with in a 100mile radius of Beaumont there was no power, water, or gas and there was a strick curfew that they would arrest anyone out in public after dark. We all had to drive as far as there was gas, wait in line a quarter mile long for over an our to fill up with gas and pray that we could make it back out with the same tank of gas. It was dark when we left but luckly none of us were pulled over.
We stayed one night in Dallas and then straigh shot it over to Phoenix for 20 hours. We were all so so tired when we arrived and slept for days it seemed. But here we are now til the end of October in the bright sunshine 100+ degree weather! And getting closer to Utah with every trip.

Here we go again with the 3rd move of the summer to Beaumont, TX. Before Jess and I took for to Utah for a vacation the management decided to move the whole office (12 married couples most with kids, 8 single guys, and 8 techs) to Texas because of a better economy and market. Jess and I were really excited because it just so happened that Reno and Melanie Mendenhall who were are good friends from back home were working for APX in Beaumont and living in the same apartment complex that we were moving to, small world. Luckly we didnt have to make the drive from Miami to Beaumont instead just flew from Salt lake to Houston after our family reunion. Beaumont is exact opposite of Miami. It is a small town feel where people are allot nicer and layed back. However some Texans are still rough around the edges because within the first months being there we had one guy choked on a door step, another tackled on the ground and one get pistol whipped in the back of the head and taken to the hospital. We did have allot of fun though. Almost every morning the majority of the office would play sand volleyball and hangout at the pool. We also played alot of golf and tennis. These pictures are a big office talent show that we put on when Erika (jessica's sister) came to visit us. All the wives made up a dance, we had singing, funny talents, and skits. Never would have thought we would be in Texas and this point of the summer but here we are.

Utah Summer Vacation

We would have never thought a vacation back to Utah would be so much fun! It had been 3 months since we had been back to Utah together so it was good to stay in our home and enjoy time wtih family. Later on in the week we had a Peterson Family reunion in central Utah but for a few relaxing days we got to spend time with each other biking, jogging, eating out, and enjoying Utah weather. Jessica seems to be more and more active these days. She convinced me to run miles up Provo Canyon every morning and even bike the 21 miles from Utah lake to Bridaveil Falls and back. We enjoyed ridding scooters from Highland up through the canyon to Sundance and back. Ofcourse we ate at all the resturants we love that are not on the east coast; Cafe Rio, The Pie Pizzaria, Gandolfos, JCW's, etc... It was good to take the focus of work for a week.

Hunting Alligators in Miami

While in Miami we took our office to Billy's Swamp Safari out in the middle of the Everglades National Forest for alittle adventure and we got it. We had a National Geographic quality experience on the fan boat up close and personal with the gators and even took the chance to have some fried gator tail and frog legs. We caught a gator on video munching on a large white bird that got alittle too close to the water! For all those who know that I have a long standing phobia of gators would be proud of me for getting on the boat let alone so close to these big gators.

its not too often that we get off early to have a night on the town but we did for FHE monday night. a few weeks back we had won a company incentive between offices and had a little nest egg to spend on a fun activity so we all met up and packed in a huge limo bus with leather couches, plasma tvs, and kareoke and were off to the Florida Marlins major league baseball game with all 30 sales reps and their wives and children. we totaled around 50 people. at least thats how many tickets we bought. we thouroghly enjoyed ourselves and took the occasion to eat unhealthy but noteworthy hotdogs, nachos, peanuts, and soda. love the game. all of us from pinnacle got alot to time up on the jumbotron and i even got a solid 15 seconds of solo hip hop dancing up on the screen. we had a blast. below is a picture of when i went to a braves game at turner feild in ATL last april.

welcome to miami

well....that was a quick month in tampa. monday morning we pulled up stakes and moved the camp to miami just down the road. in the summer sales business it seems like they always keep me on my toes. we moved because a variety of reasons, primarily because of the ecomomy, demographics of tampa, personell issues, but overall we felt like miami offered a better opportunity for my guys. it was an easy transition because i already had an office of 30 reps selling in miami. it was just a matter adding another 10 reps to the bunch. they were welcomed with open arms and we had one of our best days today! the timing of it all was crazy with jessica still back in utah for cicily's baby. but i was able to move what we needed and will be welcoming her back in a week with open arms.

we have been out in tampa, fl since the later part of april and have had quite the ride. between beach trips, softball, movies, bike rides, dinners, pool parties, bbqs, and many trips to busch gardens (with our season passes) we have tried to forget about how much we work. jessica, as always, made the best of friends with the wives out here and keep them all busy and happy with craft days, recipe exchanges, water park activities, and birthday parties. she is such an amazing friend and supportive wife. work has occupied most of my time, well, all of it if you ask jessie. but we have found time here and there to have fun and am looking forward to our 3rd year anniversary coming up on the 2nd of june. we have a hot hot date planned. that sums up may
